Your dream Texas metal building doesn’t have to stay a dream. The good news is financing can help make that dream happen sooner than you think.
At WolfSteel Buildings, we know your metal building is more than just a purchase, it’s a dream you’ve worked hard for. That’s why we’ve partnered with trusted financing providers to make the process simple, straightforward, and easier to achieve!
In this guide, we’ll explain how our metal building financing works and help you find the option that best fits your goals.
How Does Our Metal Building Financing Work?
Financing a metal building doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s an overview of what the process typically looks like:
- Speak with a WolfSteel Buildings sales rep about your project.
- Express your intent to apply for a loan.
- Connect with a lending consultant for pre-approval details.
- Submit the required documents.
- Receive loan approval and funding.
What Happens During Pre-Approval?
Good news! Getting pre-approved does NOT affect your credit score. It’s a soft check that gives you a clear picture of what you may qualify for before you commit to anything.
Once you’re ready to accept a loan offer, be sure to verify the following details FIRST:
- The amount you’re approved for & if anything needs to be paid up front out of pocket
- How long your application stays open before you’d need to reapply
- What the interest rate is, and when it starts accruing
- What the preferred payment amounts and loan duration terms look like
Only once you submit your full documentation does a lender run a hard credit check to finalize the loan.
What are the Different Financing Options Offered by WolfSteel Buildings?
At WolfSteel, we offer two financing options: HFS (Home Improvement Loan) and Frost Bank. Below, we compare both based on how they work, how to apply, eligibility requirements, and interest rates so you can decide which fits your project best.
Option 1: HFS (Home Improvement Loan)
Who is HFS?
HFS is a financial institution that provides personal loans for home improvement projects, including adding an accessory building like a metal structure to an existing property. This is direct consumer funding, meaning once your loan is approved, funds are deposited directly into your bank account for you to use toward your project.
How to apply with HFS?
1. Visit our financing page and click “Apply Here“
2. Fill out the inquiry form, which triggers a soft credit check.
3. If you pass pre-screening, HFS will notify you of your pre-approved loan amount, and our sales team will follow up as well.
4. An HFS loan consultant will reach out to complete your application.
5. Submit your required documents. Typically proof of income and your project contract for verification. HFS may also contact WolfSteel directly to confirm project details.
6. Once approved, funds are typically deposited into your account within 48 hours!
HFS at a glance:
Requirements | Details |
|---|---|
Minimum Credit Score | 670 |
Existing home required on property? | Yes |
Must be the property owner? | Yes |
Starting interest rate | 7.99% (begins once funds received) |
Application Window | 5 days (extensions available by contacting HFS) |
Option 2: Frost Bank
Who is Frost Bank?
Frost Bank is one of Texas’s most respected local banks, known for exceptional service and a strong commitment to community values. As a Texas-based company ourselves, we’re proud to have built a relationship with a bank that, like us, is dedicated exclusively to serving Texans.
How to apply with Frost Bank?
1. Select “I’m Interested“ under the Frost Bank option on our financing page.
2. Fill out a short pre-screening form with basic contact and project information. It takes about 5 minutes, with responses typically within a day.
3. You’ll be introduced directly to our preferred lending contact, who will guide you through the entire process with personalized, hands-on support.
Frost Bank at a glance:
Requirements | Details |
|---|---|
Minimum Credit Score | No strict minimum. Low scores due to usage or credit history length may still qualify; past-due payments or collections are more likely to be an issue |
Existing home required on property? | Yes |
Must be the property owner? | Yes |
Starting interest rate | 6.91% (may accrue during construction depending on project timeline) |
Option 3: Bring Your Own Financing
Prefer to work with your own bank or lender? That works too. Securing your own financing gives you the freedom to:
- Search for the best rates and terms available to you.
- Choose the loan type that fits your specific needs.
- Work with a bank or credit union you already trust.
- Speed up your building timeline with financing already in place.
- Stay flexible for early payoff or future refinancing.
What does WolfSteel think?
With all the different options that may be available, here’s how we recommend approaching the decision:
1. Start with your project plan.
Before you talk numbers, get clear on your vision such as the size, features, and scope of your building so it lines up with the loan amount you’re seeking.
2. Do your research.
We’ve built a dedicated financing page with the details on every program we offer, so you can compare options at your own pace.
3. Ask your salesperson for more details.
They know your project inside and out and can point you toward the financing path that makes the most sense for your specific goals.
4. Get pre-approved.
Once you’ve decided which option best fits your needs, start the pre-approval process. It won’t affect your credit score as that only happens later once you submit full documentation for final approval.
Ultimately, there’s no single “best” option. The right choice depends on your credit profile, your timeline, and how hands-on you want your lender to be. That’s exactly why we walk every client through these options personally rather than pointing you to a generic application form.
